What you get on our payroll

You work the job. We do the heavy lifting.

We're an employment agency, not an insurance company — so we're straight with you about what we offer. Weekly pay, sick time, a real recruiter, and rides when you need them.

Quick apply

Weekly direct deposit

Prior week's hours hit your account every Wednesday — no fees, no holds.

Early Wage Access

Need cash before Wednesday? Pull a portion of earned wages mid-week through our payroll partner.

Paid sick time

Vermont earned-sick-time tracked on every check, accrued from day one.

Met in person, every time

You sit down with a real VEA recruiter before we send you anywhere. No app-only placements, no faceless callbacks.

Fleet van pickup

Free door-to-door rides on routes our fleet covers — so transportation isn't the reason you miss a shift.

Path to permanent

Most placements are temp-to-hire — the employer's plan is to bring you on direct once the fit is right.

When the basics are the barrier

We don't stop at the placement.

A job offer doesn't help if you can't get to the floor — or don't have a place to sleep while you find one. Two practical supports most agencies don't bother with.

01Fleet van pickup
Free

No car? We'll come get you.

A van from our fleet picks you up before your shift and brings you home after. On time, every shift, no fee — so transportation isn't the thing keeping you from a paycheck.

  • Door-to-door, round trip
  • Coordinated through your recruiter
  • Available on routes our fleet covers
02Weekly accommodation
Per-week fee

A place to land while you find a place to live.

Just moved for the work? We offer weekly accommodation so you can start the job without scrambling for housing. Stay as long as you need — we'll help you find somewhere better when you're ready.

  • Move in by the time your shift starts
  • Pay weekly — no long lease, no deposit
  • Ask your recruiter for availability and rate
State pathways

State-backed resources, beyond VEA.

We're one piece of the workforce ecosystem in the states we serve. These state programs run independently and can stack with anything we do — apprenticeship while placed, unemployment between contracts, JobLink alongside our pipeline.

Real state programs, real URLs. We get nothing from referring you.

Walk in welcome

Or apply in person.

Online not your style? Swing by our South Burlington headquarters on Williston Road — no appointment, no résumé required, plenty of parking. Bring an ID and a recruiter will get you started.

Common questions

What workers ask before they apply.

Honest answers. If your question isn't here, call our South Burlington headquarters — a real recruiter picks up.

Do I pay anything to work with you?

No. It's free for workers — always has been. Employers pay us when we place you; you never see a fee, deduction, or markup on your check.

Am I a temp forever?

Most placements are temp-to-hire, meaning the employer's plan is to bring you on direct once both sides know the fit is right. We also run direct-hire searches when the employer wants a permanent hire from day one.

When do I get paid?

Every Wednesday for the prior week's hours. Direct deposit or paper check — your choice, switch any time.

Do I need a resume?

No. The quick apply form takes about two minutes. If you have a resume we'll take it, but recruiters work from a 15-minute phone call — they care about what you can actually do.

Do I need to speak English?

Not to apply. This site is in five languages and our recruiters work with interpreters when they need to. Many of the roles we staff are hands-on work where the shop floor runs in more than one language. Tell us what you speak and we will match you to employers where that works.

What if I don't want my current employer to know I'm looking?

We treat every conversation as confidential by default. We never contact a current employer without your written go-ahead.

What happens after I apply?

We review every application. If we have a role that fits — or need to learn more — a recruiter reaches out to talk through your background, shifts, and pay, then lines up an employer interview. If nothing fits yet, we keep your details on file and reach out when something matches.

Do you do background checks and drug tests?

Most placements include a background check; some include a drug test depending on the employer. We tell you up front for each role, and we cover the cost.

Can I switch shifts or employers later?

Yes. Tell your recruiter the work isn't fitting and we'll find you the next seat. The whole point of staffing is that you're not stuck.

What if I don't have transportation to the job?

We run a fleet van for routes we cover — door-to-door pickup before your shift, drop-off after. It's free, coordinated through your recruiter, and one less thing standing between you and a paycheck.

Do you help with housing if I'm new to the area?

Yes. We offer weekly accommodation so you can start the job without scrambling for a place to live. There's a per-week fee — no long lease, no deposit — and your recruiter can share availability and current rates.
